My PC keeps switching itself off , no explanation for it, just like the power has died.

I changed the PSU a while back so wouln't of thought it was that.

There is no logic to it, sometime I can leave it for hours with no problems, other time it will switch it self off as soon as i boot it up

Any thoughts appreciated

Check the settings for the temperature cut out in the Start up (del on startup) to see what its set at, if its too low or there is a slight bios issue it could cause your pc just to shut down due to it being "fooled" into thinking its over heating, oh and check that your cpu fan isnt clogged, that wont help if it is

Thanks Tony, will have a look. Your advic sound logical, the PC has been continuously switchin off after about 1 min, i have taken the side panel off and at the moment it is running ok

Def an overheating issue then. You may need to remove the heatsink and fan and reapply thermal paste, if cleaning doesnt help.

Unlikely that the bios turn off limit is too low, if your bios supports that.
