They prolly get you on the following T&C's
# Only original Fujitsu Siemens accessories and upgrades should be installed during the period of ownership. The original Lifebook must be returned, in good working original order, with no damage or faults to the address provided in the claim pack sent to successful applicants. Returned Lifebooks will be examined before a replacement is issued.
# If a claim is refused the promoter’s decision is final and Fujitsu Siemens Computers will not enter into any correspondence once a decision has been made. Fujitsu Siemen’s promotions are executed fairly and honestly and with the best of intentions at all times.

What does 'like for like' mean? It doesn't specify that the specification will be of the 'current day'. i.e. My wife has my laptop from 3 years ago, and it struggles to do very much even though it was top of the range at the time.

Yes, that seem like a good deal.
£1000 initial outlay. £120/3 years insurance and you get a new laptop.
Edited to add: My company gives me a new laptop every 3 years and I can purchase the old one for £50 so not as good as that and my wife doesn't mind the old laptop once all the Pizza crumbs have been cleaned off of the keyboard.

I would be a bit worried bout my data security to, even if you format the drive before returning it. Do they expect the OS to still be on there? That would mean a format then reinstall. Your personal data could still be retrieved though, so a zero of the drive would then be necessary. PITA really.

The text says: "you will be eligible to receive a brand new LIFEBOOK of like for like specifications every 3 years"
Does this mean that I will get 3 year old CPU, Memory, Hard Drive, etc? Where is the benefit in that? Who knows where technology will be in 3 year. Would I care about an old technology in 3 years time? not really... or did I misunderstand something?

Yes u misunderstood. You will get a spec worth what u originally paid in 3 yearly intervals. Which means whatever you get will be a vast improvement over your existing kit. Like for like means what components will be included. But as you say the core stuff like the CPU,ram, hdd etc will be much better tech.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clearification.
But the question remains: "where will Fujitsu Siemens be?". Knowing that their contracted partnership will run out shortly and won't be extended?

Having purchased 2 FS laptops before, I would never buy another. Not even if they offered me an 18yr old nympho free in the deal.
I should have learnt from the first I bought, but stupidly gave them another try but the second one was even worse!!!
Never again!
