Cool What power supply is included? Still 175w?

Not had any issues with my Elite's Falcon (65nm CPU/90nm GPU) chipset yet, touch wood.

Valhalla should be due sometime next year too, with 45nm GPU and/or CPU

I'd seriously recommend against using your old power supply! Its likely to be the older 203w version. I doubt it would cause problems, but I wouldnt risk it.

I'm easily amused and grew up in the 80's, so just thought that 'Joeygadget' was some form of site with really rubbish gadgets or ones that made strange noises

Don't hold your breathe, they seem to be rare these days, you're better off asking to borrow one on forums such as this, avforums, xbox-scene etc.

lol

took this advice

and on sunday spent a blissfull approx 3 hours transferring things over, with a 64mb memory card, including the longest ever gamertag recovery i have ever seen for some reason.

re downloading all the bigger content that was to big for the memory card.

only to find that i had to download everything yet again to do the licence transfer

monday morning the bloody lead arrived from MS

anyway, popped it on ebay last night before bed for £17, woke up this morning and its been bought already

nobody has seen a jasper in the wild yet I don't think.

here's a good article on how to spot them:

yea i read all the various threads, i dont think anybody is going to really know until they butcher one.

but because i now have a fresh 3 years warrante with this fella, no doubnt if it does go **** up, it will come back with whatever is the latest and greatest stuff inside anyway.

not sure why people seam to be "hanging on" instead of just buying one to be honest!!

Nice thought, but I don't believe MS do that. They just recycle the older Xbox's they've had time to fix.

I think people are hanging on so they can ensure they get the 65nm CPU and 65nm GPU, which improves heat efficiency, power consumption and reliability

I think only internet nerds do that (which is a fairly small percentage of the buying public). 360 sales have gone through the roof recently, especially since the price drop

Ive always been a ps fan but with the recent price drop of the xbox 360 60gb decided to go ahead and by one.
Checked the box and it too had the 175w power block along with the lot no.0833 which according to the first link above its a jasper? My main concern was it had to have the hdmi output connection for my tv. Which it did even though the box showed no hdmi port connection?

Anyway after setting it all up it turned out that I had a brand new faulty console out of the box with the 3 rings of death. Got my replacement yesterday same lot no etc (jasper) All working and hope it stays that way. Mind you I have the ps3 for backup.

Just need some decent games for it now?

Yes it was also confirmed by Microsoft support line.

I had heard many horror stories of this rrod, so waited until they bought out a revised version of the 360. From what I had gathered the console with the hmdi port connection and the 175w power block had the better chip etc and was less likely to fail?

Mind you buying the console turned into a little nightmare.
Jumped on the Sainsbury offer for 139.99 xbox360 60gb. Mrs collected it on my behalf but when I got home found it was a used 20gb console. So I go back to my local sainsbury who have no more in stock. However a branch 12 miles away have one in stock, they will save it for me. So decide to go there and get an exchange. When I arrive the cashier tells me they would not accept the console back as it looks used and to get a refund from the branch I bought it from. WTF

I ended up getting a price match from comet instead. Finally got my refund from Sainsbury but comet returns policy looks somewhat long winded too.
I'm glad I got the reference number from microsoft even though the comet assistant called them to check as well as checking with her manager.
For god sake the thing is a day old and does'nt work.
