Default Xbox live help

I've finally got round to connecting my Xbox to teh interweb & discovered Live. The problem is I bought my machine 2nd hand with someone else's ID on it. Now I want to keep the account for the Gold live membership & points still left on it (I managed to change the gamer tag ok) but I don't seem to be able to edit the hotmail address that's tied to it. Is there any way I can change it to my own hotmail address ?

that is tied to the windows live account IIRC.

i think you would have to contact MS customer services for stuff like that.

Personally if it's not your hotmail address i'd delete the account and start afresh.

If you buy points or live membership via the xbox it will keep your credit card details on his email address. He won't be able to see your card no etc. but could potentially spend stuff at the microsoft store using your details.

You can change the email address for the account by going through the MS billing services, (using the MS website). However, you need to be the original account holder to do this. A new owner of the console can't for security reasons.
