Can anyone tell me what I would require to enable a US spec Dell Latitude D420 laptop to work in the uk ?? reason I ask is that I have been offered one at what seems a very good price problem being is that the supplied charger / mains adapter has a two pin plug attached, will one off these multi pin travel adapters be enough to safely use the laptop in the UK ??

have heard that most laptops cover both uk / us voltage but not 100% sure about it all and obviously dont want to buy anything that might not work here ??!!

anyone any knowledge off this particular laptop - Dell Latitude D420- any good ??

The keyboard will be slightly different, power you can most likely use a UK Dell power lead, no more than a few quid.

I use a UK laptop in Canada ...Works fine just bought another lead , Just check on the warranty though, You might have to send it back to the states if you have any problems .

Everything will be fine. You can even just cut off the plug and fit a UK one. The power adaptors of laptops will take 100v - 240v.

The only downside is that the keys are in a funny place.
