Power supply upgrade
Starting to play a few old strategy games on PC and the it's rebooting a lot.
Did have this problem sometime ago and was told possibly it was a power supply problem,it stopped doing it and i left it,now i've started to play a few demos it's gone back to rebooting every few minutes.
Using PCWizard i get these results
Hardware Monitoring : ITE IT8712F
Voltage CPU : 1.36 V
DIMM : 1.22 V
+3.3V Voltage : 3.31 V
+5V Voltage : 5.05 V
+12V Voltage : 11.90 V
Chassis Fan : 2220 rpm
Processor Temperature : 38 °C
Mainboard Temperature : 32 °C
Power/Aux Temperature : 41 °C
ACPI Thermal Zone : 40 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
Processor Temperature (Diode) : 23 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk ExcelStor Technology J880 : 39 °C
iirc was told the 12V reading may be an issue.
Now i'm upgrading the quantity of memory (512mb at the mo minus whatever the intergrated video card uses) so i've been looking on Novatechs website there are these Power Supplies : Components at cheap prices from Novatech.co.uk : Components :
So
1:Should i just upgrade the amount of memory first?
2:What should i be looking for in a replacement power supply (name ,power etc) not looking at spending too much though (£50-60ish)
cheers Paul
