Hi all

I am trying to find out if the new spunky BT Homehub has gigabit ethernet interfaces or if they are 100mbit like the current Homehub. No one at BT actually seems to know, so does anyone have one or a manual that tells you what speed the interfaces are ?

Right at last. The onboard ports are 100mbit.

Anyone know of any wireless routers that have gigabit onboard ?

you could buy a gigabit switch, connect it to the homehub and run clients off that. Not sure about the new homehub but last time I used one it was utterly crap.

A switch would be cheaper than a new router but many have said cheap gigabit switches can die under heavy load, haven't used one so can't comment from personal use.

Jack is correct above but IIRC you would need a ADSL modem in front of it as the WAN port is an ethernet connection

The Belkin N1 Vision ADSL router has gigabit with Jumbo frame support *Note currently not many routers will built-in gigabit support jumbo frames.

However, I would go with Mikes suggestion of considering a gigabit switch as it gives more choice on the router you want to use.

I have a netgear 8 port gigabit switch upstairs, so the p.c.'s are gigabit linked for rapid file transfer, and a link to my 834 4-port ethernet wireless router for 'net access in the living room. I've trunked the cables so it all looks very tidy as well.

I get the best of both worlds with this solution
