I bought GH3 with guitar and then rockband as the guitar is compatible with rockband (360 version only)
Really good fun, I prefer rockband, for me it has a much better track listing and good weekly dlc.
As for it being hard, when i first played it starting the career on easy i saw expert mode and thought i'd never be able to play that, however i'm now working my way thru the expert careers on GH2, GH3 and Rockband it just takes some practice.
