Whats the best/fastest processor i can upgrade to?

I beleive with that Mobo you will not be able to go above a non hyperthreaded 3.06GHz P4.
You will probably end up paying far more for that than going to down the new mobo/processor route.

You'd be better upgrading the motherboard but I know what a pain that can be - it would mean buying new RAM as well & a total re-install. If you're just going to get another socket 478 CPU, make sure its compatible with the front-side bus speed of the board, think they had them at 400mhz and 533mhz if i remember correctly. Check the motherboard manual / specs
