All PS3 games are region free - its only BR movies that are region-locked.

Would US PS3 games be fine online in the UK too? I heard that they're locked to regional servers. Any truth in that?

Just create an EU account. Some games look at the Hardware to determine region, some look at the account.

Around two-thirds of BluRay releases are region free. Theres a few lists about that you'll find with a quick google.

Don't know about specifics but GT5P was imported by thousands and getting online wasn't a problem, so long as you could get the update DL'd though...

Ta. I'm thinking specifically of Motorstorm. An NTSC copy of the game on a PAL console online with an EU account?

My mate unwittingly bought a US version of CoD4 off Ebay for his PS3 (60Gb) and it worked fine...HOWEVER....when they released the new multiplayer maps for download they wouldn't work with his US verison of the game. He sold it on and got a UK version of CoD4 and the new downloaded maps then worked fine.

Be aware if you are planning on doing online gaming where there is downloadable content.

PS...I also know of at least one other person on here that had the same problem.
