Default What is the best Laptop / Notebook CPU?

I want to get a new Laptop / Notebook but I'm a bit stumped on the choice of CPU. The choice offered on Ebay alone is below.

AMD Athlon
AMD Athlon M
AMD Athlon XP, XP-M
AMD Duron
AMD Mobile Athlon 64
AMD Sempron
AMD Turion
Intel Celeron
Intel Celeron M
Intel Centrino
Intel Core 2 Duo
Intel Core Duo
Intel Core Solo
Intel Pentium
Intel Pentium 4
Intel Pentium 4 HT
Intel Pentium 4-M
Intel Pentium II
Intel Pentium III
Intel Pentium III - M
Intel Pentium M

I'm not sure if these are all laptop CPU's or if some are desktop orientated.

What is generally regarded as the best family of laptop processor's, is there a stand out winner?

What are the ones to avoid, if any?

Cheers,

Craig.

Yeah, I've been favouring the Intel Core 2 Duo laptops anyway. I reckon they are the way ahead.

Core 2 Duo - the bigger the number after the processor name, the better:

For example:

Base models are T5000 series (i.e T5300, T5450 etc)

Midrange T6000 (i.e T6300, T6400, T6750 etc) and T7000 series

Top range T8000 and T9000 series

If your on a budget: Keep an on eye on the some of the "Pentium Dual-Core mobile" CPUs..as some are 64bit, like the T2370 and T2330.

Don't mix up Core-2-duo with core-duo as the latter aren't 64bit enabled.
