Question Quick Question

I have a PC which is about 6 years old now - does me fine.

It has a CD RW Drive and the eject function has always been tempramental.

Last night I burned a CD with MP3s for the car .... the damned thing refused to eject

I ended up taking a screwdriver and prising it open, busting the front panel off the drive in the process.

Pushing the tray back in, I could hear that it 'thought' there was a CD still in it.

Restarted the PC and - because it boots from the floppy first, then the CD and finally the HD - it sat there thinking there was a CD in the drive.

I have disabled that boot and XP powered up.

Now, I clearly need a new CD RWriter ........ I cannot find one, they seem to be all DVD.

Is it possible to get a CD RWriter these days? What options do I have (I have no need for a DVD Burner).

Any links to some 'old hat' cheap CD Burners? Do DVD Burners also burn normal CD's?

Thanks

For future reference, if a cd refuses to eject, simply insert a paperclip (or similar thin object) in to the hole on the front near the tray, this will manually open the tray.

See if your floppy appears in bios, if it does then you need medical help
