Default External hard drive any good?

I am looking for an external hard drive to run a daily or weekly backup of my pc's Ideally I would like to hide the drive somewhere and then run a lead to the PC (not sure how long you can get USB leads?) I had a quick look online and in PCWORLD and there are half a dozen makes and models , seagate, mybook, maxtor economy etc They alll seem to come with external power supplies (PIA) but shold any be avoided by the plagu or are they all much the same?

These are quite good: Maplin > 750GB Seagate FreeAgentâ„¢ Desktop Drive

Although if you want to hide it away, a network enabled one would be better?

they are good but they r also proper fukin ****!!! if they crash ur f-ed! u'll end up paying stupid moneys to get all your data recovered bk! & thats still moneys as ive got mine done once, I saw a very good offer for a 1T hard dive for 120pounds got it, within 6months it crashed & ended up paying about 500pound to get all my data recovered & it wasnt fully too...

The best way around it is but buy Seagate or Maxtor. they are the best & hardly ever go down on ya. I also asked afew data recovery companys & they also admited it too.

All the best in what you do

Depending on how much data you have, you could also use an external storage company like Online Backup, Data Backup & Remote Backup Solutions from Mozy.com – Welcome. It is good for backing up documents, pictures, music not good for the 500gb of downloaded **** movies.
