I've got a problem getting online with GT.

When I select online it wants to do an update. I click ok then I get another download screen. It downloads a bit of the update then it stops and says its failed. I can't play online until this update has happened.

Done a search and it looks a common issue. Has anyone else had problems downloading GT updates?

The PS3 itself has the latest update and I've been online and set my account up etc so thats working fine.

 

Is this the UK or Japanese version?

I've had bother updating both of them. Getting a hard wired connection to your router and doing it at say 11pm helped me in the end.

I did mine (wirelessly) on the first attempt, but it did take about 1.5 hours to download/install. I've found it's slightly quicker in the morning (when everyone else is at work).

I know someone else who had to have about 10 attempts before it worked.

 

Just did it again at 0:00, took almost 30minutes but its worked!!

 

Good stuff - how many attempts was that then?

 

Tried about 10 times in total I think!!

 

So is the update worth it. I have tried a couple of times since i've had it but never worked so never bothered

 

Had the same problem with every GT5 update to date matey, not sure why the problems only seem to occur with GT5 and not with any system updates or updates for other games though?

 

I couldn't play GT online without the update so it needed to be done!

 

I did the first update, it finally worked after about 10 tries!

I played online for a few days which was fun, then it wanted another update, that worked after 5 tries but now the online GT5 doesnt work atall!!!!!
