Default Anyone got or getting a freesat box?

I recently ditched my sky subscription and out of the blue just stumbled across this today;

freesat - Home

Like freeview but means you can buy a HD receiver, use your existing sky dish and have no subscription, like freeview but without the mercy of poor signal due to weather and greater UK coverage.

I won't be. I already have SkyHD, so freesat won't offer me anything I don't already have.

Expect for the frankly bizarre decision by ITV not to put thier HD channel onto Sky. Something to do with Noses, faces and spiteing springs to mind.

Not that they will have much of any worth on HD - I mean thier regular output is utterly vapid, and thier sports HD output will be at the mercy of the local broadcaster.

It will more than likely hasten the inevitable dropping fo the £10 HD charge from Sky, so it's all good.

I'll be waiting for the PVR versions to come out later in the year but yeah I'll be getting one over Sky I'd imagine.

Doesn't offer me anything over freeview at the moment, save for BBC HD.

However, I will look into it more when my favourite USB/Recording software supports it.

Yep they seem hard to come buy from *any* supplier.

Good points about the PVR though, perhaps I'll wait for one with a built in HDD
