Default So, newsgroups?

I'm about to get newsleecher and sign up to newshosting lite (10GB for now)

What I want to know is, are newsgroups a faster safer way of downloading stuff like torrents?

Films, games and ****. Although mostly **** tbh.

I use Giganews (with free Newsleacher).

I use nzbsrus.com and nzbmatrix. Small donations give lifetime VIP (unlimited NZB downloads). Spot on! No complaints, maxes out my connection at 20Mbit.

Cool

I use Easynews with Newsbin Pro or Grabit and Quickpar.

I get throttled a bit in the peak times by my ISP, but otherwise it fairly zips along, and unlike torrents, all the data is there at any given time, no hoping all the people with bits are around to get a fast download.

I use Zens newsgroup server, retention isn't great (about a week) but good enough.

My client of choice is Alt.Binz, it has multiple search engines incorporated for free.
