Burnt PSU pins - what did they feed?
Last year I retired a trusty home built PC after constantly getting BSOD and other wierd things that I could never trace. It gave me the excuse to built a new unit, so it went into the attic.
I've just pulled it apart and tested all the components on a test rig and can't any fault.
Apart from the PSU. The 20 pin connector has all three orange 3.3v cable pins burnt.
What type of components would have been drawing off these circuits as I'll test them a bit harder?
I presume that having three cables burnt points the blame at the PSU rather than what they fed.

Difficult one,
i had a MB that fried the usb circuitry, could see a large melted lump of PCB.
It wasn't worth repairing or playing with.
Given the cost of components these days, its more than likely cheaper to replace than repair

None of the parts are bieng re-used as I've totally rebuilt. The parts were going to make up an emergency PC or go on Ebay.
I just want to find out what components would be drawing on the 3.3v rails realy. The PSU will get chucked though as I can't beleive that anyhting on the board can burn all three orange supplies.
Another bit of rubbish to add to my growing WEEE pile.
