Just noticed my 2 year old Asus laptop is no longer recharging it's battery.

I'm wondering whether its a laptop or battery fault. Out of interest, how long did your laptop battery last for ?

Mine has lasted 18 months, now not charging, but covered under a recall at Apple.

My Sony one has done 18 months so far an no only holds a charge for an hour max. Was nearer 3 hours when new.

my Dell has been running for 3 years and still holds its charge well

Although the majority of the time I use it on the mains, and the other halfs Dell is the same but she uses it on battery a lot more than me, but she got one of the new replacement non combustable batteries under the Dell recall

I bet replacement batteries aren't cheap. I can hardly bring myself to look!

My Advent laptop had about 2hrs 30 mins when new (it's 2 years old now), but I used it a lot on mains during a 3 month period and that seems to have fried the battery. It will now now only hold an hour's charge. When I use it on mains now I remove the battery first.

Yeah I did the same with my ACER. I have to have it pluged in at all times ti use it because its fooked now.
