OS X users - print server question.....
Hi All,
I've been using Print Fab for my wireless print server stuff. I've got an Epson Colour Stylus 680, and a Canon ip4300.
Sadly, the print fab software is trial-based, and I'm not convinced it's worth £40-odd.
Are there any other options?
FWIW, I'm using a Netgear WGPS606.
Any suggestions?
cheers,
DAn

What exactly do you want the printer server to do?
Don't forget that OS X is built on unix, which means it has the CUPS printing system built in. Point your browser at this and have a look at the various options there to see if they would be any use.

Hi Markus,
All I want to do is print from my Macs to either (or both) of the printers.
Here's basically what my setup looks like (all DHCP)

You know, I wish more people would take the time to create a graphical illustration of what they want to do
I'm going to take a guess here that Print Fab will give you access to features you won't get through the normal print dialog on a Mac?

exactly. ie print fab lets me print!!
I replied to your pm, but also, if OS x lets me do this any other way, then great. IIRC, printfab just puts my 2 printers into the printer list.

Dan,
What happens if you go into /Applications/Utilities/ and run Print Center/Print Setup, then use the options there to look for printers? Do the printers show up, if so, then you should just be able to add them from there, which would need to be done on each machine, but then you would have the printers visible on all machines.
