Does anyone know if / how you can stream media from a PC to PS3?

With my Xbox 360 obviously it links up with Media centre (downside being Divx etc) but seems to work pretty well.

Anyone got similar functionality with PS3 and if so how?

Yes you can, you just need to give access through media player to the ps3.

I`m using media player 11 and i`m sharing with no problems. You need to open media player. Right click the top bar and you should get a little drop down menu, then go tools, then options. Go to the library tab, and the top box is sharing. Click on configure sharing with the ps 3 on and connected to the network. Make sure that share my media is enabled, the ps3 should be shown as an unkown device. select it then click on enable and that should be it.

ps3 shows up as an unknown device in media player, but in PS3 GUI wont find any media servers
