Default headphones

got myself and ipod, just looking at headphones now. The standard ipod one are pretty weak.

I was looking at some Sony ones, just wondering what anyone else recommends....budget is around £30.

Shure SE110 will easily be better than anything else in that price range.

The ipod dac won't like shure as they take a bit to drive them.

Ultimate ears studio 3's would be a better choice.

You can get them for around £30-£40 if you look around.

I know you have a budget but if you can stretch to £70 BOSE in-ear headphones are great.

I thought about the Shure NC stuff, but decided against them.
Why?
Well primarily, my ipod is in the car. I don't use it enough outside of the car to warrant it. I ended up with some Sony EX71 (IIRC) - they were about £25.
FWIW, you can get around the amp issue (just download a patch that delimits the ipod amp)

The patch just delimits the volume, the dac[amp] can only drive so far.

So you can make it sound louder but it will still be distorted as there won't be enough amperage to drive the shure's to their true potential.

Sony mdr 71's are good, be wary of cx300's there are plenty of fakes about even with amazon.

Ive used both and tbh the ultimate ears knocks them both out of touch.

Just bought a pair of these, well over budget, but also double my budget, after reading the reviews seems like they're worth the money imho.
