Question

Why does Word97 put bjbjt+t+ on the top line of a saved document and lose all the formatting when I re-open it.

If I close the doc immediately then re-open from the recently opened files list everything is perfect and the all the formatting comes back?

Its driving me nuts!!

I think IIRC its to do with text recovery option.
