can you recommend me a free program that i can use to record the radio as mp3 files on my pc (vista). thanks

i have tried to use audacity put when i go into prefrences then audio i/o then look at recording then device there is nothing there to pick ?
i have now installed jet audio and when i go into recording source the is nothing there

Your best bet is to do a google search for a "free sound recorder", their are quite a few out there so its just a matter of trying a few until you find one that suits your needs.

i have an onboard sound card that does not support the recording software so i need to buy a new one can anyone recommend one (cheap) for vista 32 bit

I have a Hauppauge digital TV tuner (that gets digital radio as well) and I just use Windows Media Center on Vista to record. It is great and you can use the guide to choose the program, I can then put Chris Moyles and Geoff Lloyd on my Ipod and play it in the car.
