I'm going for it after work, Revenge is one of the best games I've played online - a racing game where you dont care about winning, all that matter are those takedowns...
Some of the reviews have me worried though, seems like the open world aspect is seriously flawed...

Burnout usually has its own made up cars - but normally a bit better than Ridge Racers...
no Retry option for races seems rediculous, so if you lose you have to drive back to the start to have another go - WTF? Nor can you "warp" to events you haven't completed, you have to drive to them all. Looks a great game but I think a lot of people will get annoyed with it before getting anywhere near completing it.
Got Assasin's Creed coming this weekend too so these 2 will be fighting for attention.

Lovefilm has Avatar , yup the 1000 was easy, altho i missed one single thing right at the start which meant i had to play the entire game a second time. Collecting the flags were very tedious but pretty easy enough to find

Sorry to digress, but is ACnot split by levels and you can go back to one and replay when finished to get the stuff you missed?
back on topic - yes, I'm buying Burnout on the way home...

i`m going to give this burnout game a miss
got to many games to play and not enough time
still not played the orange box yet apart from a quick go on portal and team fortress
halo 3 still needs finished (somewhere near the end)
assassins creed needs another 3 chaps killed
bought a preowned copy of dead and alive 4 and not got any gamerscore from that one yet
stranglehold, still on the 3rd level
if i could get on the bloody console it would make things easier, but the G/F has set her sights on getting me the gamerpoints from bejeweled 2 action mode (level 8 i think?) so shes always on the thing and i never get a look in (although i would be extremely pleased if she got to level 8 as its fooken hard, she has been to level 7 so far with 34hours play time )

Paradise is superb, both as a game and a technical achievement, one of those games that to be seen in action to appreciate.

the speed this game runs at is amazing, Jedi reflexes would be a great help!
Anyone tried the online challenges yet?

Which is the best version (PS3 or 360)? Just wondering which one to get (am leaning towards the 360 because of the gamerscore thing)...

Achievements wise, there's a lot of stuff to do in Burnout, that you wouldn't otherwise do in the PS3 version, such as online challenges - they're not like COD4's that give you ranking points, all these do is nothing more than the sake of doing it, I went through all 50x 3 player challenges the other night and they consisted of easy things like all meet up at a specific point on the map to trickier stuff like all getting onto the same roof of a certain building by using a ramp - they're a bit poor to be honest, there's no other reason to do them other than gamerpoints.
The game has a bit of Crackdown about it, like jumping through 120 billboards, 400 smash barriers etc...

Thanks for that. Sounds like the 360 version is the one to get then (reading around they seem to be pretty much identical where graphics etc are concerned).
Still searching for something I want to play (other than uncharted) on the ps3 to warrant buying one. Got some good deals on in hmv at the moment, and I nearly bought one at lunchtime, but the games are so uninspiring...

Got my first snapshot sent to me last night (If an opponent has a live vision camera, it takes a pic of their face when you take them down and sends it to you)... got this pic flash up on my screen of some bloke doing Team America's secret signal.

Drakes Fortune, Ratchet & Clank and Resistance Fall of Man make it quite attractive to me but still can't quite force myself to buy it.

That's the deal I was looking at (although I was going to go for burnout instead because I've seen resistance for sale 2nd hand for about £15). Still who knows what'll happen by then end of the week - still tempted

I used the photo album on the PS3 for the first time over the weekend. For the geek in you, it's the same as hardcore pornograhy
With regards to Burnout - I am not sure I want it yet - I need to rent it I think - i was completely nonplussed by the demo.
