Hello
I have a digital video camera, and wanted to edit the video on my PC.
To upload the video, I need a firewire card on my PC.
My question is once I've edited the video, how do I save it back to some form of tape? It appears that my video camera only has firewire "out".
Thanks, Steve.

What camera is it? Some DV cam's have DV-In disabled to avoid paying an additional EU tax on import.
However this can be, erm, modified

You will also need decent software which enables you to encode the video back to DV.
Another option is save the video out to a video CD which will work on most DVD players.
Or if you a really flash - encode to a DVD.
Adobe Permier 6 is great. Expensive but does the job well. You will need a pretty powerfull PC with a lot of hard disk space to handle the video.
Mail me off line and I will tell you what I've got.

For the money, STUDIO DV is by far the best option. For that you get a firewire card, cable and very powerful software. It is also very easy to use. It comes well recommended at £100. Myself and Simon de Banke have used it on a number of occasions, for very professional results.

Shaun.
