Default 3 Broadband

As my contract with Virgin ADSL is coming to its end, I was thinking of getting a mobile conection with 3.

I can get the 3gig per month for £15 with free modem/doongle thingy.

I know 3 have a worse customer service rep than Virgin, but I'm interested in its performance. Is it reliable? The coverage according to 3 is pretty good, is that true?

Any advice welcomed. Thanks.

To start with the 3gb wont be the speed you will get, possibly the downloads your entitled to, the HSPA being used is good for about 1.8gb, 3 use the same kit we do so
Also, if you move further from the cell the lower the speed you will get, time/distance/batt life, so take that into consideration.
3G cell sites (for any network) have a smaller footprint than their 2/2.5G counterparts so you need more of them, if you lose your 3G coverage, you will lose your connection as 3 dont have a 2/2.5G network, they use another Telecoms provider for that

I joined the 1GB (tenner) per month twee service just before christmas. Does the job, and i was "Google Earthing" over the broadband interweb in far off Lancastercestersire without any problems.

Check your coverage, but the service is fine

Cheers guys.

The coverage in my area is being upgraded to the faster service by April this year - possably sooner. If it gets upgraded to 3gig speed, I'll be sure to let you all know!

Well, I might give it a go. It will save me paying hotel internet rates when working away so thats a bonus.

Any more experience/advice welcome.

Cheers

Odds on.

Hello

Did anyone ever sign up for this? Annoyingly they only appear to be doing 24 month contracts now, but it still looks interesting ...
