Excel help - setting up an inventory-type thing
Hello All,
I need a bit of help just to make my life easier if possible.
The scenario - I'm building some new recording studios, and have an inventory of equipment (names and quantities).
I have visually laid out the racks in which the equipment will reside. Each piece of kit will take up a cell in Excel.
Ideally, what I want is when I add an item into a cell, the tally comes down on my main inventory (therefore letting me know how much kit I've got left over for allocation elsewhere).....
Any ideas how I do it? I can email the existing Excel sheet that I've done if required
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Gary, it's not really for maintaining an inventory - just a one or two-off whilst I'm constructing the rooms

I think you maybe missing the point mate, in a Rec Studio you have racks, which hold maybe 5-10 various modules, the guy want's to be able to plan out his equipment in the various available free slots.

LOL - nah, in all fairness, it is a good package.....up to a point. It's a fabulous teaching tool, particularly when you press the TAB key
I'm running Reason 4.0, but with Logic Pro 8, and it's rewired so I just use some of the soft-synths. But again, when I've actually got some of the proper synths etc, it really shows up the inadequacies.
As I said - a good package for the money, but only comes in to its own as an addition to a studio

ps, and yes, you're right about my spreadsheet requirements - many thanks to DrNo for his help - cheer Adrian!!
