Default Recovering a deleted partition

Numnuts here was busy doing a reinstall of XP and decided to zap a few partitions to tidy things up. Got a bit over zealous and managed to delete the wrong one with quite a few files Id rather keep

Seems to be loads of free apps claiming to recover deleted partitions but does anyone recommend one before I go ahead?

Cheers,
Simon (AKA Stupid )

I've used GetDataBack with very good results (after 2 re-image and one install of XP on a drive)

THe only problem with it is that it can sometimes recover files.....but they are damaged. That and it's £35/40

Yeah that one seems to be recommended in a load of forums Ive been checking. Installed the demo and its found everything I wanted to recover so will bite the bullet and buy a key. Im sure it will come in handy in the future.

Hmm actually scrap that I just bought Acronis Disk Director + True Image 11 for $69.99 so about £33 for both. Bargain as was looking to get some imaging software anyway.

BartPE is a very useful tool.

There's some great tools available for it too (and GetDataback works as a plugin)

Ok looks like that was a mistake on my behalf. Acronis disk director is useless. Did a quick search on deleted partitions last night and it found 1 on fast mode. Did full mode and had to leave it overnight so a good 10hrs in total and this morning its less than 20% complete and only found 1 partition Im not bothered about.

Recover my files found all 3 partitions in less than 10 mins. Will purchase that tonight and hopefully get it all back. Should have stuck with it in the first place but the Acronis package seemed very reasonable. Will be asking them for a refund under 30 day money back guarantee.

Just in case anyone is as stupid as me I can recommend the "Recover My Files" App. Works a treat and is really fast. With a 20% off coupon I found on google I got it for around £27.
