PC DVD Liteon Region Problem HELP !!!!

can someone help me please , having major problems with my liteon 163 drive
have upgraded to the newest firmware, trying to use the r1211 program , ran it as r1211 1 off, making region off, when i try to run dvd's it will not play uk or american it will run region free disks.
when i try to run the program again in dos mode trying to say force it ti region 2 it says drive not connected ? or not an atapi drive
i am using dvd genie to try and force power dvd into playing the movie but power dvd still says something like error wrong region
even used elby dvd killer still nothing
