Red face SAP Gui 7.10

i am new to the world of SAP, having moved over from an Infrasructure environment to Business systems within the company that i work for,

i have a number of issues where upon the successfull installation of the SAP Gui 7.10 (no error messages) it fails to launch upon double click!, no error messages are given nothing, just an egg timer, checked in the process's and nothing relating to SAP is running, uninstall, SAPsweep, regtools, nothing fixes the problem apart from a full re-build of the machine?!,,

surley there is a better solution?
any SAP guru's out there?

Thanks in advance!

I've had some very odd issues with some versions of the SAP GUI.

Have you tried applying the latest patches for both the setup program and the frontend. You can either do this to the installation files so any subsequent install is automatically up to date or install SAP GUI and then patch it.

You can get the latest patches from http://service.sap.com but you'll need an account.
