Acer Laptops
After months of deliberation and my old Toshiba laptop crashing, I finally decided on either a Lenovo R61 or an Acer Travelmate 5720.
Decided that the Acer was a bit more user friendly and the reviews were outstanding so went for it (from laptopsdirect.co.uk).
2GHz dual core, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD, 4USB ports, connectivity with just about anything, XP Professional (sorry but I don't trust Visa at the moment), 15'4" super clear screen and a magnesium alloy case all for just over £700 (including VAT).
It's very very fast, looks good and actually works!
My Toshiba was taking up to 15 minutes from boot up to actually be useable, so it's a bit of a revelation!

cool. I will be looking for a new laptop soon. I fancy one with an eSATA port for working with other people's drives when I want data off them quickly
