Thumbs up Cell Tracking for Google Maps for Mobiles

Using mobile phone mast IDs to work out your position to within 1/2 mile or so has been added to Google Maps for Mobiles.

So Blackberry users without GPS devices can use to find out rough location - handy if lost in a foreign city.

Read about this yesterday. The Youtbue demo of it was very amusing (going to London for a curry ). Very handy for the iPhone too as it doesn't have GPS.

Better on an 8130 than an 8100 by a large factor. BT GPS is actually useful instead of 500m behind LOL

Try it

Thanks for that -- just updated Google maps and it is cool.

Well, I say cool but it is estimating my location to within 5km, so not THAT useful, but still cool
