Default Help!!!

major problem with my pc. i have win xp and its very very slow! especially when opening a program file etc etc. and it some times freezez and even cuts my internet connection. im with bt and have that white bt home hub router connected via ethernet cable. any help would be fantastic.

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? I ask as it's known to seriously slow things down.

If you disconnect the ethernet cable from the machine and reboot, then run various applications do you still see the problem?

yea i have norton antivirus 2005. and yes problem still there when rebooting with ethernet cabnle out.

Same problem here says Intrernet Cache is full but wont empty it!!!

I don't have time to go into specifics here. Seen this before, and the best solution was...

Uninstall Norton (takes a while when you machine is sick)
Run Norton's uninstall cleaner, you download this from their site. This removes all the other rubbish that is still left
Then install a different virus scanner, such as NOD32.

NOD32 is perfect if you like MSN viruses LMAO
