Question Play.com PC's

What do you guys think of these rigs on Play?

£1K machine
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/343629...e=1087604f2570

For the price, I think it's a really excellent quadcore package. Can that price be beaten for the spec? Ok the gfx card isn't as good as it could be (the GS spec below has a 8800GTX card though), but it's still an impressive spec.

£1.2K machine (GS)

£2.8K machine is slightly overpriced, but check that spec

Nice What site is that from? Is this build yourself or custom build by the site?

Tbh for the price and no hassle of building yourself and waiting for all the parts to arrive (very rarely your lucky enough to get them together In my experience) then the play one is very good at that price. Yes its the 320mb GTS but thats what £90 diff to a GTX? Upgrade the card if you can.

Long gone are the days you can save loads building your own. Most do it so they can select the best components (esp for overclocking) and the challenge of assembling and knowing how it ticks.

If you knock of the 8800GTX and get the new 8800GT, you could save another £150 off that and the performance difference would be negligible.

That overclockers list also has 4GB of ram n 1TB of HDD space right? So quite a saving over the Commodore Play ones.

Yeh under £900 is achievable, as I don't need an OS.
