Why does my computer go back two pages?

When clicking the "back" button, it often goes back two or even three pages.

Is this common? Is it a problem with the computer, the mouse of something else?

not going to be a problem with the computer. Could be a problem with the mouse, mouse drivers or your browser.

I had this problem a few days ago, and it seemed to be a problem with my USB optical mouse

hit it a few times, unplugged it, plugged it in again, problem seems to have gone away now
