Quick iPhone question
Seen a iPhone on ebay close to me, so can collect in person, thats UNLOCKED . Now I dont mind paying £260 /£300 for one thats unlocked and can be used on my Vodafone network, as I dont want to move to 02 and pay £35 per month.
What will the draw backs be on buying one UNlocked ?? Will everything work ? I dont go on the net much, but would use it wireless from work and out and about.
Any help would be great

had my iphone for a few months now bourght from the usa and unlocked it via dev team/dvd johns site , everythings ok except voicemail as mentioned and on mine youtube but thats just me being lazy and not sorting it out . personally the phone looks good but lacks stuff like decent camera no video ,slow browser ,
depends what you want it for looks yes its cool but a touch on the large size .
have a look here Hackint0sh - Powered by vBulletin should find most of any questions answered in the i phone section

The Iphone uses EDGE technology so you shouldnt have any problems with using it on another network, the downside is you have absolutely no warranty/support if it goes wrong, so your basically throwing your money away, plus its only a 2.5g phone, though its pretty good, if you didnt want the phone part then Apple are releasing something that does pretty much everything else in the near future i believe

They already have: The Ipod Touch. I haven't had an Ipod before, but I have to say this is great (helped by the fact I didn't pay for it!), I can download TV shows I missed and then watch them when I'm bored.

Unlocking the IPHONE then running the latest firmware update will render your phone useless :-

It is true that as with all previous updates, if you are unlocked and upgrade to 1.1.2, then your iPhone will need to be re-activated and unlocked, and at present there isn't an updated unlock application, but I'm sure it'll be here soon.

I had a little play on one of these babies today in an O2 store and boy is it a slick bit of kit. Even the missuse was impressed with its fantastic GUI and stylish operation, and she hasn't a clue about any technology. Within seconds I had logged into SNet and checked my UCP, a few seconds later I was watching a YouTube video of Pete Higham (SMACS) on track at the last Blyton day I ran Viewed a few pics and showed her the zoom/scroll features, then left a pic of my newborn son on it for everyone else to see I have never paid for a phone, and manage to run a business and do my personal stuff on £10 of PAYG credit a month, but I am seriously tempted to plunder one of these. I'll probably wait until the next update though for more storage and any additional features, and maybe the price will drop a little after the initial hysteria fades.

I just can't get over the fact it's going to cost £900 over 18 months.
Added to that the fact it's not 3G and only got 8gb when the iTouch has 16gb means it's a no go for me.
They are very good though.
