Xbox 360 Elite - when to buy?
Having heard about the thinner (cooler) chips on the way, and really wishing to do everything I can to avoid the ring of death, anyone any idea when I'll be able to get one with the newer chip than the launch Elite?

they're being fitted and sold now, but its a lottery as to whether yours will be one of these new ones.
Once you get it out the box, there's a few checks you can make, but I'd like to see you do that before buying!

You should be able to tell by the serial number code thingy printed on the box.

Think the Elites are being bundled with a copy of Forza 2 now, so should be some indication of how new the machine is...
