Default Taking Images from dvd

How can I take a image from a dvd???? does anyone know what program i can use?

I got married a few weeks ago. The pictures are ready, along with a dvd, with all 140 Pictures on that the photographer took.

Is there any way I can take the images off the disc or copy the images that appear on the screen?
I have had look at the file on the disc and it seems to be a DVD Movie file, so i cant access it. I want to use it to copy the pic's for my family, without paying the extortionate prices the Photographer charges.

Thanks

Adam

Why not just right click and save the picture

thanks for the info guys,

You can right click on the pic but it does not give the option to save the pic.

What he has done, is turned all 140 images into one dvd file. One big chapter if you like. The only option you have is put the disc in the dvd player and press play. No fast forward, no next next chapter option.

What i really need is to convert the dvd file back into separate images, but im not sure if it can be done.

I have tried the screen capture option, but the way he has edited it on the dvd, the pic's have a black border around them and the size of the pic is smaller than the original. When after i have messed around with the image and streched it slightly, it does not look right.

I realise it is gonna be hard to crack but it must be able to be done. I cant ask him what program he used.

Any ideas welcome.

I really dont want my family paying £11 a photo. I think it is a bit over the top.

Cheers Adam

I have not got the originals. We (the bride and groom) only get 2 pick 20 pictures for our wedding album.

We got a brouchure and a dvd with all 140 image on it. The brouchure images are only 1" by 1" and there is 10 on each page. I've tried scan and stretch them but the quality is not the same by a long shot.

The only chance i've got is to either convert the dvd file back into the original 140 images, if it can be done, or screen/snap shot each individual picutre and then try and print, but again the quaility is not the same and it surround by a thick black boarder.

Thanks

Adam

The photographer is only protecting his business and if you haven't even bought all the photo's I doubt very much that they are proper quality on the dvd !!! Bite the bullet and buy all your pictures, it was for your wedding so who cares. Then you can take a digital picture of the original and get those printed

The KMPlayer
I just tried that with an Atlantis episode. Its good, but the image quality does not match BSPlayer using the CCP codec pack. I dunno why, but the image is just not as good. Tried a few things now, all of them not quite as good as BSPlayer.

OK, I take that back. Just had a play with its (endless) options. Image now equals that of BSPlayer.

Yeah, just found those I kinda thought those would have been on to start with

Sorry for the thread derailment, but is it possible to just have a frame showing the video playing when non fullscreen. BSplayer has a nice feature where the video you are playing is played in a little frame. There are no play/pause buttons show etc. No title etc. Means that when you are not in fullscreen you get the best use of your space.

Yeah i know what you mean, i'll have a play and let you know if i find it, there's so many damned features it's hard to know where to begin.

Been fantastic for me and plays every format ive thrown at it.

Most of the features are off to make running it painless, that way when you activate a feature and it buggers up you'll know the cause.

Great for a freebie isn't it.

It is good, its better than BSPlayer for playback due to its advanced controls for remembering where things are, plus A-B repeat, and capturing.

Those damn menus are very complex though, it loses some points there.

Also. I have clicked a button on the bottom of the non full screen play window. It was toggle something or other, I think it started with an S. The button was at the bottom right. Anyway, my play bar has now turned pink and I have a graphic equalizer going....I have no idea how to toggle that mode off. I've pushed and prodded all sorts of options and got nowhere

Dont know but go into skins and use overlay skin control that'll get rid of the frame!!

I think skins is where you adjust all that stuff, im now running lovely and no borders.
