I'm trying to sort out a friend's pc, which is stuck in a Safe Mode - reboot cycle. Quite willing to reinstall XP, which will fix that, but they'd ideally like their email contacts keeping, and a full XP install will replace Outlook Express.

Is it possible to backup the contacts as a whole from Express? I'm planning on putting the HD in my pc as a slave, so I can back up their docs, just not sure where / how contacts are stored

c:\documents and settings\(username)\Local settings\application data\identities\(identity number)\microsoft\outlook express

make sure you have "show hidden files and folders" on or else you won't see the 'local settings' folder
