BCS - Anyone a member?
I've just received an email advertising the BCS.
Had a quick look round their website and wondered if membership is even worth thinking about.
I can't remember the last time I saw a CV with BCS membership on it and lack of membership hasn't hurt my job searching up until now, as far as I can tell.
In fact, I would probably assume membership comes with free jesus boots and brown cardigan with elbow patches.
Is anyone here a member who thinks it's worth joining? It looks from my quals and experience I could go straight to MBCS. Is it worth £88?

Yes I looked at joining about 15 years ago but thought whats the point. Also there's the institute of analyst and programmers which again I dont see the point. I always make the decisions commercially, am I going to earn more money if I join? and spending most of my IT career contracting the answer was always no!
