Configuring Win2k Server to use internal hardware clock
I was asked to look into why our server's time kept jumping around. I've read up on the subject (link below) which explains how to set the server to use an internal clock...
How to configure an authoritative time server in Windows 2000
BUT it appears the person who configured the Win2k server originally, used some bizarre settings which I've captured below:
So what I need is some kind Scoobynet member to talk me through is how to change back FROM using an external time source, TO using an internal clock. eg. from the Microsoft website, they ask to change a value in the registy:
In the right pane, right-click ReliableTimeSource, and then click Modify.
As you can see from the screen capture, we don't have that in our registry.
Any ideas how I should proceed ? Alternatively, if someone could supply their registry settings for their server (using an internal clock time source) I'll copy them in!

Ok, I've gone ahead and inserted the REG_DWORD ReliableTimeSource and set it to 1
also set the following...
LocalNTP = 1
ntpserver = blank (which is the default setting)
Microsoft mention to make sure its not syncing with itself - but I'm not sure how to check this.

That means it isnt getting its time source from anywhere, so must be its internal clock (again afaik the system board clock)
I have set them sometimes to Atomic clocks, but it hasn't been very often really
