Default Adobe Photoshop - About half price if you live in US compared to UK???

Guys

I'm just about to purchase a license for Adobe Photoshop CS3.

While I'm no penny pincher, I noted that it costs around $600 if you're in the UK and about £500 if you're in the UK.

I'll be honest, that considering this is a download, and it make no difference, I find this rather difficult to swallow.

Any advice?

Simon

I haven't looked at T&Cs to be honest.. but if you register, you have to use a US credit card, etc.

Adobe are being really strict about registrations, and even resellers, (i.e. USA resellers aren't allowed to sell to the UK etc).

I ended up getting the UK version, but the price stinks

You could probably fly over for that price difference!

If you shop around you can get a good deal on CS2, do they do upgrade versions for cs1/cs2 > cs3, would this work out any cheaper?,

A few years back we bought a quantity of versions of office (before they did the licence kits), we were advised to buy microsoft works and the upgrade of office, saved a bundle.

right..

does anyone know where I can buy a downloadable version of CS2? I just need the serial code, but I have stupidly left it until the last minute to go and buy it, as the trial runs out tomorrow!

The CS2 versions I've seen are boxed, rather than downloable.

LOL

well spotted.

You're right. it should have read $600 for US, and £500 for UK.

Anyone got any ideas? The trial version runs out today, so I need to do something asap.

To be honest, I would be compeletely happy with CS2 anyway, so anywhere that I can buy a license for CS2 without having to have it shipped to me would be perfect.

Cheers

Simon

I doubt you can purchase a CS2 license online as it's been superceeded by CS3. If one needs to use the software after the trial then one could use an extended trial serial number *cough* until your CS2 is shipped to you, at which point you could then upgrade that to CS3. However, If you're thinking of getting a US version of CS2 shipped to you, it may well be that you'll encounter the same issue upgrading it, in that it needs to be registered/paid using an US address.

Or if you want to do it the official way, order your CS2 copy, download CS3 trial and use that till the CS2 turns up

If you've already used a trial of cs3 and its expired you will have to clear out the registry and delete a few files to enable the trial to work again.

you can upgrade from photoshop 7 can't you? and that serial isn't centrally stored, just locally validated.

See if you can use my serial number from my photoshop 7
Serial number: 10451209673846687696

ps, I have a full, non upgraded CS2 I use at home.

I thought you were refering to the "While I'm no penny pincher" not the country reference.
