Default Thunderbird Import Wizard Problem

Just done a search on here but I can't quite find what I am looking for.

I want to move from Outlook 2007 to Mozilla Thunderbird. When I try to run the Thunderbird import wizard to import my mail into it I get the following error message:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default client".

I'm not sure what's going on here; however I have both Outlook 2007 and Thunderbird loaded up so I can't see why this won't work.

Can anyone point me to a solution please? I don't want to go back to MSO 2007 if I can help it.

Thanks

WB

Thunderbird can't import from Outlook, only outlook express and that's what it's looking for.

Tons on the internet about it, a bit pish really.

Hank,

Cheers for this. You saved me a load of hassle.

If I can't get my emails into OE and then into Thunderbird I guess I will be looking for another email client.

Thanks again.

WB

Update - Just imported into Outlook and then into Thunderbird so I'm up and running.

Yep, happened to me, got it all running, nice app, couldn't access my old mails... uninstall.

If you can get it into OE, it's fine but too much hassle for me for no real benefit other than it not being MS.
