Help - PDA wiped clean and now won't connect

Hi guys,
I have a HP/Compaq PDA (2210 I think) that I bought to use with Tom Tom about 3 years ago. I haven't used it in a while and the battery has died, wiping all the data…. So I charged it up and restarted it but the damn thing won't connect with my pc.

Does anyone have any ideas for how I can get it connected as I want to load TT back onto it so my wife can use it for sat nav?

Do I need to re-flash the ROM and if so how would I do this - copy to a cf card and then find them on the PDA?

Has it wiped the USB drivers - if so how do I get these back onto the PDA seeing as I can't connect it to the pc?

I've tried reinstalling activesync on the pc even on a different PC but still won't find it. The PDA works fine, it just doesn't have any programs on it
