Using a PC as a recording studio?
My brother-in-law has a band and also does a lot of live recording on DAT.
He's asked me to spec up a PC to be able to take the sound straight off his DAT and burn to CD/DVD and he also wants to be able to plug his electric guitar into/through the PC soundcard (i.e. into PC and out to the amp) so that he can use the PC as an effects pedal and also so he can record.
Is any of this possible? What soundcard should I be looking at? What software will he need?
