Default Linux vnc issue - xwindows help!

Hi folks, im no linux bod so struggling to get my head round this but here goes.

Im working in a villa which has 3 amx touch screens, amx and lucent automated heating and lighting boxes and bosch divar recorder for the security cameras.

In this house was a 3 year old intel based Xandros 2.0 box which was providing internet/camera/background pics for the amx touch screens - untill it died following a power surge with no backups.

Have fixed the hardware but could not find a download for xandros v2 anywhere, did not go for the latest v4 as its probably would not like the old kit but did manage to find v3.

So installed v3 box runs fine standalone. However plug it on the network and configure remote desktop access for the above touchscreens and the minute just one of the touchscreens connects the frame buffer process krfb is munching 90% of the cpu and the machine cant even respond to direct input from the mouse of keyboard lol.

Quick check of google says this is a recognized issue and suggests using a third party vnc app that doesnt use this pricess, anyone got any ideas what though as ive no machine and being a windows bod just the installation and config procedure is confusing me to bits and struggling to find any sensible third party vnc options for linux (xandros) v3.

help!
