PS3 question
Well i finally succumbed yesterday and added the PS3 to my collection of X-Box 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.
Argos had a pretty good deal, PS3 with extra wireless controller and 2 games for £399 - games I got were Resistance Fall of Man and F1.
F1 is fantastic, was playing it until after midnight and can't wait till the kids are in bed later so I can have another go
Anyway, I tried to buy a PS3 HDMI lead but everywhere seems to be out of stock so a question for other PS3 owners - can you use a standard HDMI cable rather than the official Sony one, I'm assuming it's only a bog standard lead.
I have a Panasonic 42" HD plasma and a PS3 and I'm using scart leads
I have to say that early impressions are I'm very impressed, you wouldn't even know the console was powered on it's so quiet - the 360 sounds like it's about to take off at times.
I'm not knocking the 360 cause I'm a big fan but I just like to have the best of both worlds
Can't wait until October when Planet Earth Box Set comes out on Blu-Ray

Yes any old HDMI cable will do . I got a PS3 2 weeks ago for the Blu ray bit , You can rent a few Blu Ray disc's from Amazon , I'd recommend Kingdom of Heaven , the PQ is amazing even on my puny 32" Toshiba.
Also make sure its running the latest firmware (1.9) to get the upscaling of SD DVD's.

Hi Kev
How's things??
Do you still have your A4? I followed you into the Audi world last year and got a 1.9 TDI
Yeah it upgraded the firmware to 1.9 when I connected it last night, I can't wait to see the picture from a blu-ray disc.
I'll have to try and pick up a hdmi lead on my way home

No I swapped it for a Rav 4 in January , we needed a something to get the dog in . Great to drive though the A4, I was sorry to see it go , but needs must an all that .
We are emigrating next month , going to live in Calgary Canada , got a job on Fuel Tankers , so really looking forward to that , Ill take the PS3 back to Asda and buy one in Calgary for nearly half the price
Its a great console , just lacking a few games at the moment , but I'm crap at games and use it for the Blu Ray bit which I think it does very well for the price .
