Default Fitting a second optical drive

I'd like to fit a DVD writer to my Dell Desktop. The DVD I have uses and IDE interface. The existing CD Drive uses a SATA interace. The motherboard has both. Can I run both types together?
Do I have to change anything in the BIOS or in XP Pro?

Thanks in advance

Andy

The Dell's normally have a space connector on the IDE cable I think. sure somebody will tell you the best way to do it though.

There is a spare IDE and SATA connector on the motherboard, just didn't know if there are any technical reasons why it wouldn't work.

I have connected this now and it works fine, Biggest problem is had was that I had inserted the IDE connector into the drive the wrong way round - not sure how I managed that.
