Default Macbook - any opinions?

Pretty sure I'm going to get white one of these next weekend to replace my old G5 at home.

As this is being bought with my own money - is there anything to be aware of about these?
Didn't they run excessively hot or was that the Macbook Pro?

All laptops run hot these days, even the Windows ones. However the Macs seem to be a lot quieter.

The MacBook is the second best laptop in existence.

But these do run very hot. At first I thought it was the aluminum body soaking up the heat. It runs hotter than my other laptops.

Which begs the questions as to which is the best?

I have a late series I Macbook Pro and whilst it is hot it is nowhere near as hot as the earlier ones.

My personal experience as a Mac virgin is that they do not wear a halo as is sometimes suggested by Mac lovers however they are good.

As much as I try not to be a fanboy, the Mac Pro I have at work is a fantastic piece of kit.

However OS X isn't perfect, I actually prefer using Windows Explorer (or bash!) for file management!

I have a Macbook Pro

I actually think the small Vaios are also outstanding bits of kit.

Mac file explorer is truly dreadful compared to Windows. The Mac search is far superior to anything on Windows however.

I am an anti-fanboy
