Lol nice one. I was thinking the first reply would be along the lines of "you tight git worrying about a couple of quid". Looking hard to beat.

Cheers,
Simon

Exclamation

Vista does lock you down a lot tighter to your hardware AFAIK - with the OEM edition - I think that you cannot upgrade your mobo once installed - Hope I'm wrong though...

Someone on LADSOC posted this as a warning on Vista Michael Geist - Vista's Fine Print Raises Red Flags

Yeah I have read that but I dont plan on changing much in the near future and if you do you simply ring them up to revalidate. Unless youve got 3 pc's online trying to use the same Product Key Im sure your ok (touches lots of wood).

Default Vista

I've upgraded my Motherboard under Vista and then had to ring Microsoft to then Activate my copy of Vista. The Only quibble they had was it being installed on two machines which I answered No and then they gave me the code to activate it and everything has been fine since.
Ebuyer is the cheapest place I have found, they did have it offer for just over Forty quid at one point.

Thumbs up

I suppose at the end of the day MS don't want to alienate home users - they want businesses to buy the bulk stuff and criminals not to bulk copy the software... Fair enough I spose...

Was that with an OEM version you re-activated?
